Aït Khochine: abandoned village of the Anti-Atlas
Here is a village at the foot of the Anti-Atlas which has the particularity of comprising an inhabited hamlet and, located above, a small town abandoned for decades, but 100% authentic. Access to Aït Khochine byabout forty minutes from our riad.
To receive all its salt, the visit must be made under the guidance of a descendant of the last inhabitants,Abdu Amenukal, who is also called Abdu Varanus. A great defender of berberity and a drawing teacher, he will be happy to tell you about the secrets of this absolutely authentic village.
