Danialand Waterpark in Agadir opens: high level of services... and prices

Le Waterpark de Danialand Agadir

According to its promoter Abdelaziz Houays, it was due to open in the second half of May 2024. Finally, the necessary authorisations having delayed the operation, the Waterpark at the Danialand Amusement Park in Agadir was inaugurated on 21 June. The first visitors are praising the high level of services (our image) provided by the first stage in the creation of this huge park, while, unsurprisingly, some are objecting to the entrance fees, which some consider excessive, but which are in fact in line with the offer.

Aziz Akhannouch écoute les explications du promoteur du Waterpark de Danialand Agadir.

The inauguration was presided over by the President of the City of Agadir, Aziz Akhannouch, who is also President of the Moroccan Government (our photo, listening to the promoter's explanations). The Governor of the Region, Saïd Amzazi, and the President of the Regional Council, Karim Achengli, also took part in the event, from the front line.

The infrastructure on offer is right up there with the top-of-the-range that is advertised. Such is the case with these slides (our photo) grouped together under a privateer banner.

They're colourful, imaginative and full of fun. It's hard not to admit it!

The highest tower is 17 metres high and offers 16 attractions (our photo). A kilometre-long slow-moving river leads around the tower. Instagram shows a video.

As we have already pointed out, the two planes destined to become restaurants, which can be seen in the background, will not be opened until next year. Less sophisticated restaurants will be available from this summer.

Entrance fees? As our table shows, they come to 180 dh, or 17 euros (140 dh for children under 1 m 30). There are two prices for using the cable cars and the shuttle bus from the Kasbah to the Waterpark: 250 dh (24 euros) for nationals and 275 dh (26 euros) for foreigners. These prices are considered unaffordable for the average Moroccan, which is a pity. They are also said to be a deterrent to keeping the facilities in excellent condition. A debate that is not yet over...

The Waterpark can also be reached by car, from the foot of the Kasbah, via a road that forks left halfway up towards Danialand. Two large car parks are available (our image).

VIP and VVIP (very, very important person) packs are also on sale. These include the use of lockers and deckchairs, known as relax.
